I have been blessed with so many wonderful people and things in my life. I have a truly amazing family (husband-Neil, daughter-Cassidy and 4-legged son-Avery). My incredible parents raised me with a strong work ethic combined with a tremendous sense of humor. They instilled in me the importance of giving back.
Like so many others, my life has been touched by cancer. Countless friends, family, neighbors and colleagues have endured a diagnosis and fought courageously. Sadly, some have lost their battle. Thankfully, many are living beyond the cancer diagnosis and adapting to their new normal.
Joy US Foundation was a dream that lived in my heart for decades. Losing a friend reminded me that there is no time like the present to make an impact. I founded the charity in 2017 with the help of new and old friends. I am so proud and grateful for how many families impacted by cancer we have served, but realize we have only scratched the surface!
The mission of Joy US Foundation is to restore Joy and Serenity in the lives of cancer patients/survivors and their families by providing access to FREE outdoor excursions.
Studies show that cancer patients may spend as much as 34% of their household income trying to survive cancer. These expenses leave little leftover for vacations that promote healing for the whole family. Our ultimate goal is to maintain a property solely dedicated to providing Free extended stay and promoting healing opportunities for local families impacted by cancer.
My dream is to create an environment for individuals, impacted by a cancer diagnosis, that ultimately restores their Joy! During difficult times in my life, hiking, kayaking and fishing in the Adirondacks has restored my Joy. It is my dream to share this rejuvenating setting with others.
